The show If You Want To Destroy My Sweater was a collaboration between Melkorka Helgadottir, Mary Jakse Strebinger and Angela Thornton. During the project, the artists aimed to let go of control, sentimentality and individual ownership.

Each artist donated a personal textile to the project, which the group then transformed. The Diego served as a workshop, open to the audience for the duration of the work process, as the artists took turns disassembling and redesigning the three objects in the gallery. They documented and displayed each new representation of the textiles between alterations. The audience could witness and participate in the process of constantly re-thinking the textile objects, which will were completely transformed by the end of the project.
